Dictogloss is a language teaching technique that is used to teach grammatical structures, in which students form small groups and summarize a target-language text. Dictogloss is often regarded as a multiple skills and systems activity since learners practice listening, writing and speaking and use vocabulary and grammar in order to complete the task. Objectives The objectives I expect to achieve via experimenting with Dictogloss are: To find out whether Dictogloss works well with very low level learners (True beginners), To find out whether learners can reconstruct a text without seeing any written clues, To find out whether learners collaborate to end up with a product, To find out learners’ attitudes towards Dictogloss procedure, To find out whether Dictogloss activates four skills, To find out if Dictogloss motivates learners, To Methodology The dictogloss text and procedure used in this experimental class is taken from Wajnrb (1990:70-71) ‘Tips for travellers 2: getting around’. As this is a new procedure for me I felt it would be better to use an established resource rather than experimenting with producing my own material.
